How to View MPEGs

MPEGs are mini-movies with picture and sound.  They're just like AVIs except that MPEGs are smaller files, so they download faster.  (Still, the time it takes to download an MPEG is equivalent to downloading a dozen or more JPGs.)

If you have the latest free version of RealPlayer installed on your computer, you can watch these MPEGs.  (You don't have to buy RealPlayer -- you can just download the free version.)  All you have to do is click the MPEG link, and the file will download and play for you.

If your internet connection is slow, you will see it play in starts and stops -- after it's totally done downloading, click the play-button to view it again at regular speed.

If you're trying to view an MPEG and your computer freezes, free up a little more memory for viewing: clear your browser cache(s) and try again.

If you're a member at this site and you click to see a member MPEG, your browser might ask for your password over again.  This is not due to my server -- my server doesn't require you to send your password for every MPEG -- this action occurs only if you're using a browser that "sucks".  If your browser is really sucky, it might even refuse to play the MPEG after you've put in your password.  To get past this browser glitch, right-click on the MPEG link.  You will be given the option to "Save" the MPEG or "Save Target As".  Use it to download the file onto your c: drive (or onto a 3" floppy in your a: drive, etc.).  Then use your browser or Windows Explorer to double-click and view the MPEG.

If, no matter what you do with RealPlayer, you still can't view MPEGs, consider upgrading your browser -- but don't upgrade until you've read a few reviews first.  Many people find that they suddenly hate their browser after an upgrade.
